Team of analysts - Methodological Support

The methodological support is provided by our team of analysts:

  • Annie Bélanger, CADRISQ

Annie has a Masters in Criminology. Since January 2010, she has been managing the Centre d'accès aux données de recherche de l'ISQ (CADRISQ). Her prior experience centered on academic research and teaching. She participated in data collection, digitization and analysis, evaluated intervention programs and tools, and wrote academic articles. Her areas of expertise include quantitative methodology, the roots of juvenile and female delinquency, and the links between the evolution of family and gender roles and delinquency. In the past few years, she has had to employ various statistical methods including linear and logistic regression, ANOVA, structural equation modeling and time series. She mainly uses SPSS, but is also familiar with SAS and GRET-L.

  • Élise Comoé, UQAM-INRS branch

Élise has a Masters in Geography and a Ph.D. in Demography. She has been working in the academic world for 6 years, first as part-time faculty at Université de Montréal and professor at the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, then as a researcher at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Her research areas are migration, integration, immigration policies (in Canada and Quebec, compared with international policies), women's migration, gender relations and the integration of immigrant women in the labour force, and school transitions in Canada. In terms of data analysis, she is an expert at linear, logistic and multinomial regression and range analysis. She is also the Statistics Coordinator for two studies: the Ontario Material Deprivation Survey and the Canadian Household Panel Survey (Living in Canada).

  • Danielle Forest, McGill-Concordia and Université de Sherbrooke branches

Danielle has a Masters in Economics and in Mathematics (Statistics). She has been working in research for over 20 years as a statistician and econometrician, and has acquired a wealth of experience in statistics consultation, data analysis and teaching. She is an expert at linear and non-linear regression, variance analysis, logistic and generalised regression, mixed models, trajectory models, truncated dependent variable models (simple and generalized Tobit models), and SAS and R programming. In her current functions as an analyst, she is the Statistics Coordinator for the National Population Health Survey (NPHS).

  • Franck Larouche, Université de Montréal

Franck has a Masters of Sociology from Université de Montréal. Working for Statistics Canada for almost 15 years, he has gained extensive experience with every aspect of their surveys, from questionnaire design to data analysis. He worked in many departments at Statistics Canada, where he gained an understanding of all the stages of data production and the issues related to analysis. He has also become quite familiar with SAS and SPSS. Over the years, he has become an expert on the National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth (NLSCY), for which he is the Statistics Coordinator at the Canadian Research Data Centre Network.

  • Laurent Richard, Université Laval branch

With a Bachelor in Sociology and a Masters in Regional Development and Land Use Planning, Laurent has worked for the ÉCOBES group (Cégep de Jonquière). He has been involved in several research projects on populations, health and education. His main areas of expertise are SPSS data analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and information technologies. Laurent joined the QICSS in January 2009, and he is now the Statistics Coordinator for older Census data (1911-1951). He has also been working for Université Laval as a research professional since Fall 2000. He participates in several research projects at the Centre interuniversitaire d'études québécoises (CIEQ), notably as a Coordinator on two projects: the Canadian Century Research Infrastructure and the Observatoire démographique et statistique de l'espace francophone.
